Membership Terms and Conditions

These Membership Terms and Conditions apply to all NASOG memberships and supporter subscriptions purchased, renewed or managed through the NASOG website.


Membership Agreement

By applying for, purchasing or renewing a NASOG membership, you agree to:

  • these Membership Terms and Conditions

  • the NASOG Constitution

  • any applicable policies published by NASOG from time to time

If there is any inconsistency between the website and the NASOG Constitution, the Constitution prevails.


Membership Categories

NASOG offers a range of membership categories. Eligibility, pricing, inclusions and renewal arrangements may vary between categories.

It is your responsibility to select the correct category and provide accurate information in support of your application.


Eligibility and Verification

NASOG may request evidence of eligibility for a membership category, including confirmation of:

  • AHPRA registration

  • training status

  • fellowship status

  • practice status

  • retirement status

  • other relevant professional details

If an incorrect category is selected, NASOG may:

  • request further information

  • reclassify the application or renewal

  • adjust the amount payable

  • decline or cancel the application where appropriate


Membership Term and Renewal

Unless otherwise stated, NASOG memberships sold as annual, monthly, quarterly or multi-year subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled.

By purchasing a recurring membership, you authorise NASOG and its payment provider to process recurring payments using your nominated payment method.

Renewal frequency and billing intervals are stated on the relevant membership page.


Cancellation

You may cancel your membership subscription at any time before the next renewal date.

​

Cancellation stops future renewals only. It does not ordinarily entitle you to a refund for the current membership period unless required by law or expressly approved by NASOG.


Payment Failure

If a recurring payment is declined or cannot be processed, NASOG may:

  • retry the payment

  • contact you to update your payment details

  • suspend access to membership benefits

  • cancel or lapse your membership if payment remains outstanding


Fees and Price Changes

Membership fees are as published on the website at the time of purchase. NASOG may update fees, benefits or bundled inclusions from time to time. Any change will apply prospectively to future purchases or renewals unless otherwise stated.


Member Benefits

Membership benefits may include access to communications, resources, events, discounts, advocacy materials, educational opportunities and other services as determined by NASOG from time to time.

Benefits may change over time. NASOG may add, amend or remove benefits prospectively where reasonably necessary.

​

Membership benefits are personal to the member unless expressly stated otherwise.


AMA CPD Home and Other Bundled Services

Where a membership includes AMA CPD Home or another third-party service, access to that service is also subject to the terms, conditions and availability of the relevant third-party provider.

NASOG does not control third-party platforms and is not responsible for:

  • service interruptions

  • platform outages

  • changes to provider functionality

  • changes to provider terms

  • the suitability of the third-party service for your individual professional needs

 

Where NASOG offers a bundled third-party inclusion, NASOG may replace that inclusion with a substantially comparable benefit if the original service is discontinued, materially altered or becomes unavailable to NASOG on reasonable terms.


Life Membership

Life Membership is a one-off membership category offered on the basis described on the website at the time of purchase and subject to the NASOG Constitution.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, Life Membership:

  • is personal to the member

  • is not transferable

  • does not create any ownership interest in NASOG

  • does not guarantee the indefinite availability of any particular third-party service, platform or bundled inclusion

 

Where Life Membership includes a third-party benefit, NASOG may substitute a comparable benefit if that third-party service ceases or materially changes.


Concession and Transition Categories

Categories such as Trainee, New Fellow and Retired are subject to eligibility rules and, where applicable, time or status limits.

Where a member is no longer eligible for a concession or transition category, NASOG may move the member to the appropriate category at renewal.


Rights and Governance

Membership rights, including voting rights, meeting rights, office-bearing rights and other governance entitlements, are governed by the NASOG Constitution.

​

Website descriptions of membership are general in nature and must be read subject to the Constitution.


No Guarantee of Outcome

Membership of NASOG supports the objects and activities of the organisation. It does not guarantee any specific advocacy, regulatory, commercial, clinical or professional outcome for any member, practice or stakeholder.


Member Responsibilities

Members must:

  • provide accurate and current information

  • keep their contact and billing details up to date

  • comply with the NASOG Constitution and applicable policies

  • not use NASOG membership in a misleading or deceptive way


Suspension or Termination

NASOG may suspend, refuse, lapse or terminate membership in accordance with the NASOG Constitution, including where there is:

  • non-payment

  • ineligibility

  • misleading information

  • conduct giving rise to disciplinary action under the Constitution


Refunds

Except where required by law, membership fees are non-refundable once the membership period has commenced.

NASOG may, in its discretion, provide a full or partial refund in cases such as:

  • duplicate payment

  • administrative error

  • promptly identified ineligibility

  • other exceptional circumstances


Privacy

Personal information collected in connection with membership is handled in accordance with the NASOG Privacy Statement.


Changes to Membership Terms

NASOG may update these Membership Terms and Conditions from time to time. Updated terms will apply to future purchases and renewals from the date they are published.
